Ugandan cultural tour (14 days)

Tour of Religious, Spiritual sites, Uganda Marty’s trail, Kasubi tombs and other places.

Tour days

Day 1:

Ethnah Safaris Guide(s) meets and receives our clients at Entebbe International Airport and warmly welcomes you and takes you through a quick but rich briefing of Uganda. The Guide then facilitates your transfer to your hotel which may be in Entebbe or Kampala depending on where you choose to stay overnight.


Day 2:

After a morning breakfast have a tour around Kampala visiting the different cultural sites starting with Naggalabi Coronation Site which has the real history and origin of the Buganda Kingdom, proceed to Kasubi Tombs a burial place for the Buganda Kings then have a lunch break then an afternoon visit to the Residence of the King and his parliament at (Bulange). Over night in Kampala.


Day 3:

After breakfast, take a morning drive to the eastern part of the country where we shall have a whole day cultural experience with visits to the mystical Sezibwa Falls and the palace of Kyabazinga the King of Busoga with evening cultural entertainment in the palace, then drive back to Kampala for an Over night in Kampala


Day 4:

After a morning breakfast, Proceed to Bagalayazze the burial place to the Queen Mothers of the Buganda Kings, enjoy Cooking traditional meals with the remaining Queen mother and her daughters, such as Luwombo, Matoke and then proceed to catch your ferry to Ssese Islands as you enjoy the breeze of the second largest fresh water Lake in the world, (Victoria) en-route. Arrive Ssese Islands in the late evening and Check in at the respective place of accommodation for dinner and over night stay for two nights.


Day 5:

Very early morning rise to catch up with local fishermen on the Victoria then back to the club for breakfast, proceed to the BEDCO Palm Tree Gardens, drive upto a point referred to as the ‘Russia of Africa’ your guide will help you see the boundaries of the Victoria to Tanzania, back to the Club for lunch then an afternoon Cruise on lake Victoria to visit the different fishing villages.


Day 6:

After breakfast, Transfer back to Kampala where we shall have our lunch then make visits to some craft shops as we prepare for cultural entertainment at Ndere centre. Over night stay in Kampala.


Day 7:

Very early morning transfer to Fort Portal with a branch off to Bigo Byamugenyi the historical place for the Bahwezi who were super natural beings and they disappeared mysteriously, then continue to Fort Portal which lays close to the fabled mountains of the moon where we shall check in at the respective Hotel chosen in Fort Portal


Day 8:

After breakfast visit Ntande hills the home to the Batwa from Ituri forest, as we head back to Fort Portal we branch to the Nyakasura Hills and amabere Ganyinamwiru caves the real origin of the Bachwezi, time allowing we shall be entertained by the Enganzi Za Toro cultural group. Over night stay in Fort Portal


Day 9:

After an early breakfast we pass via the Toro Kingdom, the youngest of Uganda’s traditional kingdoms, ruled-aptly-by the world’s most youthful monarch, not quite four years old when he took the throne in 1995 then proceed to the Bakonjo village at Ruboni near the foot hills of Rwenzori mountains and spend the whole day interacting with the Bakonjo Community, visit the traditional healer (Chesesa) receive their entertainment and later evening transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park or spend the night with the Bakonjo.


Day 10:

After morning breakfast, proceed for a game drive in the park, then an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which joins lake Edward and George, this cruise exposes you to a school of Hippos, herds of Buffaloes and Elephants not leaving out the different species of birds, both indigenous and migrants. Over night at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge


Day 11:

Transfer to the Bwindi National Park and pass via the Ishaha sector where if lucky, we shall be seeing the tree climbing lions. Drive through the Switzerland of Africa with views of the tea plantations and processing factory, we later check in at the respective Hotel chosen for 3 nights.


Day 12:

Go for gorilla tracking walking up steeply in the dense rain forest through different trails crisscrossed by wild animals allowing access to tourists. Gorilla tracking is an inspiring and wonderful adventure which one can't afford to miss. The Gorillas are peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact.


Day 13:

After an early morning breakfast, we shall have a village walk then interact with the Batwa for the whole day as we enjoy their traditional dances and other cultural norms passed into them by there fore fathers for example traditional making of fire.


Day 14:

After breakfast transfer to Kampala with a stop over in Mbarara town to enjoy lunch, another stop over will be at the Equator and the Drum making centre at Mpambire, proceed to Kampala reaching in the late evening and spend the night in Kampala, end of our tour.
