The Jeep Tour
The jeep tour is a new way of having an adventurous trip/safari tour in Uganda and the neighbouring countries such as Rwanda, DRC, and Kenya arranged by Impala safaris.
The tour is similar to the ordinary safaris except that now the tourists are driving themselves in a convoy of 4X4’s guided by a Ugandan tour operator (guide) who is also leading the group with the use of radio communication.
Families and Groups can arrange with Impala safaris to have any of our offered tour package in a jeep tour, or they can choose to customize a tour tailored to their needs. The groups arrange and choose from themselves someone who will drive them; the selected person is expected to be an experienced driver capable of driving through national parks and on the rough terrain of Ugandan road and also possessing a driving permit. The 4 Wheel tracks that are used in the jeep tour are comprehensively insured tour vehicles.
The trip starts from where the group needs to be picked up or where they chose to reside or preferably at Impala safaris office and they proceed to the selected parks or destinations as per the arrangements. The number of days or duration for a jeep tour depends on the tour package selected and the duration specified for package in the ordinary way also applies to the jeep tour way. This means if a package is for 8 days then the group in the jeep tour will also take 8 days to cover the entire trip.
Before the group starts the tour they will be briefed of the traffic conduct on the local roads, the routes to take, what to expect along their journey and also provided with navigation maps. The jeep tour can be quite challenging because of the nature of the roads within the country.
